ASFA DANCE STUDIO
grounded in the pursuit of excellent dance technique
The Astoria School of Fine Arts was founded in 2007 as an after school program. Due to its fast growth a few months after its launch it relocated into our current space, which is equipped with full length mirrors, climate control, sprung marley floors, and fourteen-foot high ceilings providing an ideal environment for free flowing creative movement.
At ASFA we understand that dance education encompasses far more than just technique or steps. We know it teaches students discipline and commitment, while building a stronger self esteem.
Our focus is to effectively transmit the essential qualities of a dancer such as balance, poise, strength, elevation, and flexibility.
We believe that dedication to their dance training will not only show on stage, but it will also help our students develop the skills needed for a successful life whether they stay involved with dance or not.
The ASFA students get a chance to experience the spirit of teamwork and personally enjoy the results that hard work can accomplish at the end of every year in our Annual Performance.
ASFA will give its best students the opportunity to experience the highest caliber performances of dance in New York City because we want to bring a well rounded dance experience to Astoria.
We will continuously look for new master dance teachers to satisfy the needs of the professional dance community in our area.
